Binoview Duo
Is my binocular compatible?
1. Take the binoculars
2. Use a ruler or caliper
3. Measure 5mm below the top of the eyecup (see illustration)
4. Measure the diameter
5. Read the diameter from your ruler or caliper
Script how to assemble?
1. Take the binoculars, the Binoview Duo, the metal plate and the L-key.
2. Twist the eyecup open.
a. Does the eyecup turn clockwise? Mount the Binoview Duo on the right.
b. Does the eyecup turn counterclockwise? Mount the Binoview Duo on the left.
3. Place the Binoview Duo on the appropriate eyecup.
4. Tighten the screw with the L-key. Not too tight, test regularly if it is tight.
5. Place the eyecup at the same height as the Binoview Duo.
a. Look through it and adjust your eye width by opening or closing the binoculars until you have a good image.
6. Does your smartphone have multiple lenses? If not, go to step 7. If yes, test which lens is used.
a. Put the smartphone in video mode. Go through the cameras one by one with your finger. When you can't see anything anymore, you know which lens you are using in video mode. Always do this in video mode, because the smartphone can use the macro lens in photo mode.
7. Place the chosen lens (see step 6) on the eyecup where the Binoview Duo is not mounted. Look where the Binoview Duo is located on the smartphone. This is the place where you will stick the center of the metal plate. This may well deviate by half a cm to a cm.
8. Remove the sticker from the metal plate.
9. Clean the back of the smartphone thoroughly.
10. Place the plate as close as possible to the edge of the smartphone on the side where the camera is located. Make sure that the center of the metal plate matches the center you determined in step 7.
11. Press the metal plate firmly.
12. Clean the camera lens.
13. Clean the binocular lenses.
14. You're ready to digiscope!
